HOUSE OF COMMONS STANDING COMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE TO HOLD PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP IN SAINT JOHN, CHARLOTTETOWN, ST. JOHN’S AND HALIFAX

Ottawa, September 14, 2016 -

As part of its public consultation in relation to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, the House of Commons Standing Committee on International Trade will hold public hearings in the following cities on the dates indicated:

  • September 26, 2016:
    Saint John, New Brunswick
    9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Marco Polo Room
    Hilton Saint John Hotel,
    1 Market Square
  • September 27, 2016:
    Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
    9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Memorial Hall
    Confederation Centre of the Arts
    145 Richmond Street
  • September 28, 2016:
    St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador
    8:00 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
    Salon B – Fort William Ballroom
    Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland
    115 Cavendish Square
  • September 29, 2016:
    Halifax, Nova Scotia
    8:00 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
    Room Nova Scotia C-D
    Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel

Members of the public are invited to attend these hearings. Please note that witnesses and members of the public attending the meeting must clear security and provide photo identification before they can be granted access to the meeting room. Lines are to be expected.

A one-hour session will be held in each city for members of the public to speak to the Committee and present their views on the TPP. Members of the public who wish to speak must register on-site at least 45 minutes before the scheduled time of these one-hour sessions. The list of speakers will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. The Committee Chair will decide how much time each speaker will be given based on the number of speakers.
