The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Alain Giguère and Bryan Hayes.

Acting Members present: Colin Carrie for Ted Falk, Hon. Judy Sgro for Yvonne Jones and Jeff Watson for Stephen Woodworth.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Jerome Berthelette, Assistant Auditor General; Richard Domingue, Principal. Department of Industry: Philip Jennings, Assistant Deputy Minister, Industry Sector; Charles Vincent, Senior Director, Planning and Programming Directorate. Department of Finance: Richard Botham, Assistant Deputy Minister, Economic Development and Corporate Finance Branch. Export Development Canada: Miguel Simard, Assistant General Counsel, Legal Services - Financing.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 5, Support to the Automotive Sector, of the Fall 2014 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.

Jerome Berthelette and Philip Jennings made statements and, with Richard Domingue and Richard Botham, answered questions.

At 3:55 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 4:13 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 4:41 p.m., John Carmichael took the Chair.

At 4:47 p.m., David Christopherson took the Chair.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
