The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 8:47 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Joyce Bateman, Raymond Côté, Cheryl Gallant, Hon. Mike Lake, Brian Masse, David Sweet and Mark Warawa.

 

Acting Members present: Arnold Chan for Hon. Judy Sgro, Joe Daniel for Dave Van Kesteren and Jasbir Sandhu for Peggy Nash.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Clauses 102 to 142 (Industrial Design Act), 174 to 182 (Radiocommunication Act) and 186 to 190 (Investment Canada Act), 191 and 192 (Broadcasting Act), 193 to 210 (Telecommunications Act) and 211 to 223 (Business Development Bank of Canada Act) of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures.
 

Amrita Singh, Scott MacKendrick, Omar Wakil, David Schwartz, Stephen Perry and Mark Rowlinson, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Christianne Laizner, Christopher Seidl, Kurt Eby, John Lawford, Martine Dagenais and Roger Charland made statements and answered questions.
