The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room C-120, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Joyce Bateman, Raymond Côté, Cheryl Gallant, Ed Holder, Hon. Mike Lake, Hon. Judy Sgro and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Dan Harris for Brian Masse, Anne Minh-Thu Quach for Chris Charlton and David Wilks for Mark Warawa.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Édison Roy-César, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Frima Studio: Pierre Moisan, Vice-President, Strategic and Business Affairs. Project Whitecard Inc.: Khaled Shariff, Chief Executive Officer. Electronic Arts Inc.: Jonathan Lutz, Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Electronic Arts (Canada) Inc. Interactive Ontario: Donald Henderson, President and Chief Executive Officer; Sara Morton, Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 10, 2014, the Committee commenced its study of entertainment software industry in Canada .
 

Pierre Moisan and Khaled Shariff, and Jonathan Lutz, by teleconference from Burnaby, British Columbia, and Donald Henderson and Sara Morton, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:22 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
