The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Ben Lobb, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Hedy Fry, Matthew Kellway, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Cathy McLeod, Christine Moore, Murray Rankin, David Wilks and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: James Bezan for James Lunney and Ted Hsu for Hon. Hedy Fry.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Havi Echenberg, Analyst; Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), section 80.1 of the Pest Control Products Act and the motion adopted on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: The Statutory Review of the Pest Control Products Act, 2015.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than seven pages in length in the same style and format as the report, i.e. Arial, 12 point, single space, and that they be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2015.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motions adopted Tuesday, February 24, and Thursday, March 26, 2015, the Committee hear witnesses concerning Safety Code 6 on Tuesday, April 21, and Thursday April 23; and that it consider a draft report of its study of scopes of practice on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

 

At 5:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
