The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Chisholm, Ryan Cleary, Patricia Davidson, Randy Kamp, François Lapointe, Ryan Leef, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Robert Sopuck and Rodney Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Patrick Brown for John Weston and Lawrence Toet for John Weston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Thai Nguyen, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee clerk or analyst compile all of the evidence from the Committee's four meetings on Northern shrimp, including supporting documents provided by witnesses, and that the Committee chair make it public and send that evidence to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans for her consideration; furthermore, that the Committee chair send a letter to the witnesses who appeared before the Committee thanking them for their participation and informing them that all of the evidence provided by witnesses has been made available to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.

 

It was agreed, — That, for the requests for travel budgets for the study of Northern and Arctic fisheries and for the study of the potential benefits and challenges of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) for Canadian Fisheries, the period for the proposed travel be Spring-Fall 2014.

 

At 5:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
