The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Joyce Bateman, Hon. Ron Cannan, Nathan Cullen, James Rajotte, Andrew Saxton and Dave Van Kesteren.

Acting Members present: Andrew Cash for Pierre Dionne Labelle, Hon. Wayne Easter for Hon. Scott Brison and Laurin Liu for Raymond Côté.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mark Mahabir, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Alliance of Student Associations: Jonathan Champagne, Executive Director. Canadian Intern Association: Claire Seaborn, President. Dewart Gleason LLP: Tim Gleason, Partner. Federally Regulated Employers - Transportation and Communications (FETCO): John Farrell, Executive Director. Music Canada: Graham Henderson, President and Chief Executive Officer. Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada: Suzanne Legault, Information Commissioner of Canada; Nancy Bélanger, General Counsel, Director of Legal Services.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, May 25, 2015, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-59, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 21, 2015 and other measures.

Jonathan Champagne, Claire Seaborn, Tim Gleason, John Farrell, Graham Henderson and Suzanne Legault made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $20,600, for the study of Bill C-59, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 21, 2015 and other measures, be adopted.

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
