The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in a televised session at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Annick Papillon, Djaouida Sellah, Susan Truppe, Terence Young and Wai Young.

Acting Members present: Hon. Stéphane Dion for Kirsty Duncan.

Associate Members present: Irene Mathyssen.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Status of Women.

Witnesses: Status of Women Canada: Suzanne Clément, Coordinator and Head of Agency; Sébastien Goupil, Director General, Policy and External Relations; Linda Savoie, Director General, Women's Program and Regional Operations Directorate; Johanne Tremblay, Director, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2013-14: Vote 25B under HUMAN RESOURCES AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

The Honorable Kellie Leitch made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Sébastien Goupil and Linda Savoie answered questions.

At 5:14 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:15 p.m., the sitting resumed.

By unanimous consent, the Chair calls Vote 25b under HUMAN RESOURCES AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 25b, under HUMAN RESOURCES AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite witnesses to appear on Thursday, November 28, 2013 in relation to the study on eating disorders amongst girls and women.

At 5:26 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
