The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:44 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Pierre Poilievre, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Ray Boughen for Mark Adler and Hon. Ralph Goodale for Hon. Denis Coderre.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst; Alexandre Lavoie, Analyst. House of Commons: David-Andrés Novoa, Legislative Clerk; Mike MacPherson, Legislative Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Department of Transport: Annette Gibbons, Director General, Surface Transportation Policy; Carolyn Crook, Director, Rail Policy; Alain Langlois, Senior Legal Counsel, Team Leader Modal Transportation Law.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, February 8, 2013, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-52, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act (administration, air and railway transportation and arbitration).
 

The witnesses answered questions.

 

Isabelle Morin gave notice of the following motion:

That the Committee meeting time, for the remainder of the current rotational committee schedule, be 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. as decided by a recorded vote by Committee members.

 

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That notwithstanding the 48 hours notice routine motion, Isabelle Morin be allowed to move her motion.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division: YEAS: Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Ralph Goodale, Isabelle Morin, Mike Sullivan — 5; NAYS: Ray Boughen, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Pierre Poilievre, Lawrence Toet, Jeff Watson — 6.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
