The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in a televised session at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Joe Comartin, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Greg Kerr, Alexandrine Latendresse, Joe Preston, Scott Reid, Philip Toone and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Wayne Easter for Marc Garneau, Gary Ralph Schellenberger for Tom Lukiwski and Jonathan Tremblay for Chris Charlton.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Robert Gordon, Special Advisor, Cyber Security, Canadian Cyber Incident Response Centre. Communications Security Establishment Canada: Scott Jones, Director General, Cyber Defence; Toni Moffa, Deputy Chief, IT Security. Royal Canadian Mounted Police: James Malizia, Assistant Commissioner Protective Policing, Protective Policing Branch; Tony Pickett, Officer In Charge, Technological Crime Branch.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 6, 2012, the Committee resumed consideration of the question of privilege relating to threats to the Member for Provencher.
 

Toni Moffa made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 11:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:43 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Robert Gordon and James Malizia made statements and, with Tony Pickett, answered questions.

 

At 12:39 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
