The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 11:30 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Hon. Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Mathieu Ravignat and Bernard Trottier.

 

Acting Members present: Rick Norlock for Jay Aspin and Mark Warawa for Dan Albas.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst; Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Public Works and Government Services: Michelle d'Auray, Deputy Minister, Deputy Receiver General for Canada; Barbara Glover, Assistant Deputy Minister, Departmental Oversight Branch; Pierre-Marc Mongeau, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch; Pablo Sobrino, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, Acquisitions Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(i) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, the Committee commenced its study of the integrity provisions for procurement and real property transactions.
 

At 11:32 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:52 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Michelle d'Auray made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 12:58 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:58 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $2,000.00 for the study of the Order-in-Council appointment of Douglas R. Eyford to the position of Special Federal Representative on West Coast Energy Infrastructure be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding any decision made prior, the Committee shall devote its meeting of Tuesday, June 11, 2013, to consideration of a draft report on energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works.

 

At 1:06 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
