The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Hon. Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Mathieu Ravignat and Bernard Trottier.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Rob Moore for Dan Albas.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Natural Resources: Carol Buckley, Director General, Office of Energy Efficiency; Geoff Munro, Chief Scientist and Assistant Deputy Minister, Innovation and Energy Technology Sector. Department of Public Works and Government Services: Robert Laframboise, Director General, Office of the Greening Government Operations; John McBain, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(iv) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 27, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works.
 

John McBain, Robert Laframboise, Geoff Munro and Carol Buckley made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:48 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:50 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That, for its meeting of Tuesday, June 4, 2013, the Committee invite Treasury Board Secretariat officials to appear to continue the study of the government response to the Committee’s Seventh Report, entitled “Strengthening Parliamentary Scrutiny of Estimates and Supply”.

 

It was agreed, — That the second hour of the meeting of Tuesday, May 7, 2013, be devoted to considering the draft report for the study on energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works.

 

At 1:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
