The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in camera at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Hon. Ron Cannan, Linda Duncan, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Mathieu Ravignat and Bernard Trottier.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order108(3)(c)(iv) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 27, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of effectiveness of public-private partnerships in the delivery of government services.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 12:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:23 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Public-Private Partnerships: A Tool in the Tool Box".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than four (4) pages in length Arial 12 point font, line spacing of one, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That, the Committee undertake a study on current and potential avenues for enhanced energy efficiencies and potential cost reductions for federally owned or operated buildings, structures and public works; and that the Committee report its findings and recommendations to the House.

 

At 12:54 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
