The Standing Committee on National Defence met in a video recorded session at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Vice-Chair, Jack Harris, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Chris Alexander, James Bezan, Corneliu Chisu, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Jean-François Larose, Hon. John McKay, Christine Moore, Rick Norlock and Mark Strahl.

 

Acting Members present: Robert Chisholm for Tarik Brahmi and Earl Dreeshen for Ted Opitz.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Wolfgang Koerner, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As an individual: Cpl Glen Kirkland. Department of National Defence: Col Russell Mann, Director, Military Family Services.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the Care of Ill and Injured Canadian Forces Members.
 

Col Russell Mann made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:24 p.m., James Bezan took the Chair.

 

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:41 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

John McKay moved, — That the evidence to be given by Corporal Glen Kirkland be taken under oath or by solemn affirmation.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

 

Corporal Glen Kirkland was called and, duly sworn in, made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
