The Liaison Committee met in camera at 1:05 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Leon Benoit, James Bezan, Françoise Boivin, Hon. Michael D. Chong, David Christopherson, Jean Crowder, Royal Galipeau, Greg Kerr, Ed Komarnicki, Dave MacKenzie, Pat Martin, Irene Mathyssen, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Larry Miller, Hon. Rob Moore, Joe Preston, James Rajotte, Joy Smith, Kevin Sorenson, David Tilson, Merv Tweed, Mark Warawa, Chris Warkentin and Rodney Weston.

 

Other Members present: Glenn Thibeault.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Luc Fortin, Deputy Principal Clerk; Jeffrey LeBlanc, Principal Clerk; Karen Thriepland, Coordinator, Logistics Services. Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner: Mary Dawson, Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Commissioner on the Conflict of Interest and Ethics made a presentation and answered questions.

 

The Clerk Assistant, Committees and Legislative Services Directorate, made a presentation on administrative and financial matters and answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That changes to the Financial Management and Policy Guide for Committees related to per diem advances and operational budgets be implemented.

 

It was agreed, — That a letter signed by the Chair on videoconference technology be forwarded to the Board of Internal Economy.

 

It was agreed, — That the evaluation of services offered by Committees and Legislative Services Directorate staff be implemented.

 

At 1:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
