The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in a televised session at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Joyce Bateman, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Joan Crockatt, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Hon. Judy Sgro, Susan Truppe and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members present: François Choquette for Sana Hassainia, Carol Hughes for Anne-Marie Day, Guy Lauzon for Roxanne James and Marc-André Morin for Niki Ashton.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Havi Echenberg, Analyst; Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Sherry Lee Benson-Podolchuk; Linda Collinsworth, Associate Professor of Psychology, Millikin University.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace.
 

Sherry Lee Benson-Podolchuk answered questions.

 

Judy Sgro moved, — That the Committee invite Caroline O'Farrell to testify before it in the context of its study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace.

Debate arose thereon.

 

Susan Truppe moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division: YEAS: Stella Ambler, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Guy Lauzon, Susan Truppe, Wai Young — 6; NAYS: François Choquette, Carol Hughes, Marc-André Morin, Judy Sgro — 4.

 

The Committee resumed questioning of the witness.

 

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Linda Collinsworth made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
