The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Jean Crowder, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, Jean Crowder, Patricia Davidson, Dean Del Mastro, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre-Luc Dusseault and Colin Mayes.

 

Acting Members present: Francis Scarpaleggia for Scott Andrews and Joy Smith for John Carmichael.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: Hubert T. Lacroix, President and Chief Executive Officer; Maryse Bertrand, Vice-President, Real Estate, Legal Services and General Counsel.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 20, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the access to information dispute and the resulting court actions concerning CBC.
 

Hubert T. Lacroix made a statement and, with Maryse Bertrand, answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee return the sealed envelope, which was included in the package ordered by the Committee on November 2, 2011, to CBC-Radio-Canada; and that the remaining documents be considered at an in camera meeting of the Committee.

 

At 10:42 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
