The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Mark Warawa, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: François Choquette, Kirsty Duncan, Megan Anissa Leslie, James Lunney, François Pilon, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, Michelle Rempel, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet and Mark Warawa.

 

Acting Members present: Bev Shipley for Stephen Woodworth and Devinder Shory for Stella Ambler.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Michelle Tittley, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Tim Williams, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, the Committee resumed its study to provide recommendations regarding the development of a national conservation plan.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Study to Provide Recommendations Regarding the Development of a National Conservation Plan".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions from members of the New Democratic Party and the Liberal Party, provided that they are no more than two (2) pages in length, in the same style and format as the report (Arial 12 point font, single line spacing) and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon), on Friday, June 15, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the meetings of Thursday, June 14, Tuesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 21, 2012, be cancelled.

 

At 4:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
