The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Vice-Chair, Don Davies, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Annick Papillon, Jasbir Sandhu, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Council of Chief Executives: Ailish Campbell, Vice President, Policy, International and Fiscal Issues. As an individual: Zhan Su, Professor, Director of Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in International Business, Laval University. Canadian Chamber of Commerce: Cam Vidler, Director, International Policy; Nav Bubber, Director of Operations, Scotia Private Client Group, Bank of Nova Scotia. As an individual: Gus Van Harten, Associate Professor, Osgoode Hall Law School, York University.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) with India.
 

At 4:02 p.m., the Hon. Rob Merrifield took the Chair.

 

Zhan Su, by videoconference from Quebec City, Quebec, and Ailish Campbell made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Gus Van Harten, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Nav Bubber, by teleconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Cam Vidler made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
