The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Moore, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Gordon Brown, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Matthew Dubé, Parm Gill, Jim Hillyer, Hon. Rob Moore, Scott Simms, Rathika Sitsabaiesan and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Garry Breitkreuz for Terence Young, Colin Carrie for Parm Gill and Jean Rousseau for Pierre Nantel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Margaret Huber, Chief of Protocol of Canada; Charles E Reeves, Associate Chief of Protocol and Director, Official Events Division; Andrea Hudson, Deputy Director, Official Visits Division. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its review of national protocol procedures.
 

Margaret Huber made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Doug Goodings, Stewart Kellock, Robert Kirkpatrick, John Sobey and Glen Gillies made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
