The Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Garry Breitkreuz, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Garry Breitkreuz, Don Davies, Luc Desnoyers, Shelly Glover, Mark Holland, Dave MacKenzie, Phil McColeman, Maria Mourani, Rick Norlock, Brent Rathgeber and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Robert Oliphant for Andrew Kania.

 

Associate Members present: Robert Oliphant.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant; Tanya Dupuis.

 

Appearing: Hon. Vic Toews, P.C., M.P..

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2009-2010: Votes 5c, 10c, 15c, 20c, 25c, 30c, 40c and 50c under PUBLIC SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010; and
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2010-2011: Vote 30 under PRIVY COUNCIL OFFICE and Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 under PUBLIC SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
 

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
