The Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Garry Breitkreuz, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Garry Breitkreuz, Don Davies, Shelly Glover, Mark Holland, Andrew Kania, Dave MacKenzie, Phil McColeman, Maria Mourani, Rick Norlock, Brent Rathgeber and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Paule Brunelle for Luc Desnoyers and Todd Norman Russell for Mark Holland.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Analyst; Tanya Dupuis, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of federal corrections: mental health and addiction.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Borys Wrzesnewskyj, — moved during the meeting of Tuesday, June 15, 2010:

That MP Shelly Glover present evidence to substantiate her serious allegations of witness intimidation and workplace harassment against Mr. William Blair, President of the Canadian Association of chiefs of Police and Chief of the Toronto Police Service and if no such evidence or substantiation is provided that she publicly apologize for her statements and retract in full her allegations against Chief of Police William Blair.

The debate continued.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
