The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen St., the Chair, the Hon. Michael D. Chong, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Scott Armstrong, Patrick Brown, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Bonnie Crombie, Dean Del Mastro, Royal Galipeau, Carole Lavallée, Roger Pomerleau, Blake Richards, Pablo Rodriguez and Scott Simms.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement, the anti-counterfeiting trade agreement, and issues regarding cultural diversity.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, the Anti-counterfeiting Trade Agreement, and Issues Regarding Cultural Diversity".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House at the earliest opportunity.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report a dissenting opinion from the Conservative Party submitted electronically and in both official languages to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 17, 2011.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 21, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the impacts of private television ownership changes and the move towards new viewing platforms.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Impacts of Private Television Ownership Changes and the Move Towards New Viewing Platforms".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House at the earliest opportunity.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report a dissenting opinion from the Bloc Québécois submitted electronically and in both official languages to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 17, 2011.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
