Meeting No. 4

Thursday, February 12, 2009

The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Paul Calandra, Jacques Gourde, Martha Hall Findlay, Derek Lee, Pat Martin, Hon. Dan McTeague, Jean-Yves Roy and Chris Warkentin.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Orders 108(2) and 108(3)(c) and the motions adopted on February 5 and 10, 2009, the Committee undertake a study of the federal government's procurement processes, on February 24 and 26, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the Committee undertake a study on the stimulus package, on March 3, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study on the corporate assets management and the Expenditure Review, on March 5, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the Committee undertake a study on the Federal Real Estate Property Plan and the greening of Government Operations, on March 12, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(vi), the Committee undertake a study on Recent Reports of the Public Service Commission, on March 24, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Orders 110 and 111, the Committee undertake consideration of the certificate of nomination of Patricia J. Hassard to the position of Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Senior Personnel and Public Service Renewal) in the Privy Council Office, on March 24, 2009.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the Committee undertake a study on turnover rate in the Public Service, on March 24, 2009.

At 12:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
