The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 6:59 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Maxime Bernier, Robert Carrier, Bob Dechert, Jean-Yves Laforest, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Thomas J. Mulcair, Massimo Pacetti, James Rajotte and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Ted Menzies, Brian Jean for Mike Wallace, Brian Storseth for Ted Menzies, Merv C. Tweed for Daryl Kramp and Hon. Joseph Volpe for Hon. John McCallum.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-10, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on January 27, 2009 and related fiscal measures.
 

Greg Farrant, Mark Mattson, Anne Merklinger, Jack MacLaren, William Amos and David Osbaldeston made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 8:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:38 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pierre Laliberté, Patrick Jetté, John Farrell, Anu Bose, Michael Janigan and Claude Poirier made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee commence its clause-by-clause study of Bill C-10, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on January 27, 2009 and related fiscal measures, on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.

 

At 10:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
