The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Hedy Fry, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Nicole Demers, Luc Desnoyers, Hon. Hedy Fry, Candice Hoeppner, Irene Mathyssen, Cathy McLeod, Hon. Anita Neville and Lise Zarac.

 

Acting Members present: Rob Clarke for Sylvie Boucher, Cheryl Gallant for Alice Wong and Todd Norman Russell for Hon. Anita Neville.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Analyst; Lara Trehearne, Analyst. House of Commons: Angela Crandall, Procedural Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Public Service Alliance of Canada: Patty Ducharme, National Executive Vice-President, Executive Office; Allison Pilon, Human Rights and Employment Equity Officer, Membership Programs Branch. Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology: Hiromi Matsui, Past President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 1, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on increasing the participation of women in non-traditional occupations.
 

Patty Ducharme and Hiromi Matsui made a statement and, with Allison Pilon, answered questions.

 

At 5:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
