Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Blaney (Lévis—Bellechasse), seconded by Mr. Albrecht (Kitchener—Conestoga), Bill C-359, An Act to change the name of the electoral district of Lévis--Bellechasse, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That Bill C-286, An Act to amend the Witness Protection Program Act (protection of spouses whose life is in danger) and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, be referred after second reading to the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security as opposed to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.


By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That four members of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be authorized to attend the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS) 2006 Conference in Ottawa, Ontario, from October 26 to 28, 2006, and that the necessary staff do accompany the Committee members.
