The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Yasmin Ratansi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Patricia Davidson, Nicole Demers, Johanne Deschamps, Nina Grewal, Hon. Helena Guergis, Irene Mathyssen, Hon. Maria Minna, Hon. Anita Neville, Yasmin Ratansi, Joy Smith, Bruce Stanton and Hon. Belinda Stronach.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Analyst; Nathalie Pothier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Federal Superannuates National Association: Bernard Dussault, Senior Research and Communications Officer. Université du Québec à Montréal: Ruth Rose, Adjunct Professor of Economics.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006, the Committee resumed its study of economic security of women.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study on the publication of policy reports at Status of Women Canada.
 

Irene Mathyssen moved, — That the House of Commons Standing Committee on the Status of Women recommend that the Government publish all outstanding research projects from Status of Women Canada’s Independent Policy Research Fund and that the Chair report the adoption of this motion to the House forthwith.

Debate arose thereon.

 

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the Committee defer consideration of the motion until the next meeting.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
