The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in camera at 10:00 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Tom Wappel, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sukh Dhaliwal, Carole Lavallée, Pat Martin, Bruce Stanton, David Tilson, Dave Van Kesteren, Robert Vincent and Tom Wappel.

 

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Mike Wallace, Hon. John Godfrey for Glen Douglas Pearson and David J. McGuinty for Hon. Jim Peterson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on May 10, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Access to Information request for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade internal report entitled "Afghanistan 2006: Good Governance, Democratic Development and Human Rights".
 

The Committee commenced consideration of an update on the study on the Access to Information Request for Afghanistan 2006.

 

At 12:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:25 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee staff be instructed to prepare a draft report on the access to Information request for the Afghanistan 2006 Report, and that the Committee Clerk and the research staff be instructed to bring the existence of the draft report to the Committee formed in the Second Session of the 39th Parliament with the hope that it will consider it.

 

At 2:18 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
