The Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Development of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 308 West Block, the Chair, Navdeep Bains, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Navdeep Bains, Diane Bourgeois, Hon. Ed Broadbent, Stockwell Day, Peter Goldring, Wajid Khan and Hon. Paddy Torsney.

 

Other Members present: Hon. David Kilgour.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marcus Pistor, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: TVI Pacific Inc: Clifford James, President and CEO; John Ridsdel, Advisor, Corporate Affairs. As Individuals: Benifacio Patoh; Pablo Bernardo.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee resumed its study of the activities of Mining Company TVI Pacific, Inc. in the Philippines.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 3:52 p.m., the Hon. Paddy Torsney took the Chair.

 

At 4:55 p.m., Navdeep Bains took the Chair.

 

At 5:14 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:19 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the draft Operational Budget request in the amount of $11,100 be adopted and provided to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

 

The Subcommittee considered a draft report on Darfur.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted as the Second Report of the Subcommittee.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report as adopted, be presented by the Chair to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

 

At 5:33 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
