Presenting Reports from Interparliamentary Delegations
Pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), Mr. Vellacott (Saskatoon—Wanuskewin) presented the report of the Canadian delegation of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association (OSCE) to the Fifth Economic Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), held in Andorra la Vella, Andorra, from May 24 to 26, 2007. — Sessional Paper No. 8565-402-61-01.

Pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), Mr. Vellacott (Saskatoon—Wanuskewin) presented the report of the Canadian delegation of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association (OSCE) to the Fall meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), held in Portoroz, Slovenia, from September 29 to October 1, 2007. — Sessional Paper No. 8565-402-61-02.

Pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), Mr. Vellacott (Saskatoon—Wanuskewin) presented the report of the Canadian delegation of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association (OSCE) concerning its participation at the Bureau Meeting and at the 15th Ministerial Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), held in Madrid, Spain, from November 28 to 30, 2007. — Sessional Paper No. 8565-402-61-03.

Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Chong (Wellington—Halton Hills), from the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, presented the Second Report of the Committee, "A Study of the Crisis in the Automotive Sector in Canada". — Sessional Paper No. 8510-402-46.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.

Business of Supply

The Order was read for the consideration of the Business of Supply.

Mr. Rodriguez (Honoré-Mercier), seconded by Ms. Duncan (Etobicoke North), moved, — That this House recognizes the indispensible role of CBC–Radio Canada in providing national, regional, and local programming including news coverage and services to linguistic minorities throughout Canada, and therefore regrets the financial hardship and substantial lay-offs that CBC–Radio Canada currently faces; and urges the Government to provide CBC–Radio Canada with the bridge financing it requires to maintain 2008 staffing and service levels.
