The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:41 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, The Hon. Andy Scott, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Marlene Jennings, Derek Lee, Paul Harold Macklin, John Maloney, Richard Marceau, Pat O'Brien, The Hon. Andy Scott, Kevin Sorenson, Vic Toews.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, senior analyst, Kristen Douglas, analyst.
Witnesses: From the Institute for the Study of Marriage, Law and Culture: Daniel Cere, Director. From "Gai Écoute inc. et Fondation Émergence Inc.": Laurent McCutcheon, President. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on marriage and the legal recognition of same-sex unions.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
