The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, The Hon. Andy Scott, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Chuck Cadman, Derek Lee, Paul Harold Macklin, John Maloney, Richard Marceau, John McKay, Pat O'Brien, The Hon. Andy Scott, Kevin Sorenson, Vic Toews.
Acting Member present: Svend Robinson for The Hon. Lorne Nystrom.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, senior analyst, Kristen Douglas, analyst.
Witnesses: From "Table de concertation des lesbiennes et des gais du Québec": Me Marie-France Bureau, Member of the Board; Me Jacques Papy, Member of the Board. From Association of Christian Families: Richard Hudon. From Lesbian Mothers Association of Quebec: Monica Perazzo, Coordinator; Gabriel Pinkstone, Coordinator.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on marriage and the legal recognition of same-sex unions.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
