Meeting No. 40

Tuesday, May 27, 2003

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Sarmite Bulte, Christiane Gagnon, John Harvard, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Dennis Mills and Alex Shepherd.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament:  Monique Hébert and Sam Banks, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Canadian Heritage: Bruce Stockfish, Director General, Copyright Policy; Danielle Bouvet, Director, Copyright Policy. From the Department of Industry: Albert Cloutier, Senior Project Leader; Susan Bincoletto, Director, Intellectual Property Policy.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced a technical briefing with Departmental Officials.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
