The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 9:34 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Nick Discepola, Maria Minna, Shawn Murphy, Pierre Paquette, Pauline Picard, Gary Pillitteri and Monte Solberg.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal; Stephen Laurent, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Precarn Incorporated: Jim Roche, President and CEO, Tundra Semiconductor Corporation and member and Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Precarn and a Member of the Board of the CMC; Walter Stewart, Director, Business Development for Silicon Graphics Canada and Chair of the Board of CANARIE Inc.. Canadian Trucking Alliance: Stephen Laskowski, Associate Vice President. Canadian Chamber of Commerce: Nancy Hughes Anthony, President and Chief Executive Officer; Michael N. Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1), the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations.
 

Panel I: Jim Roche, Walter Stewart, Stephen Laskowski, Nancy Hughes Anthony, Terry Ruffel, Jeff Ekstein and Pierre Boucher made a statement and, with Michael Murphy, answered questions.

 

At 11:09, the sitting was suspended.

At 11:12, the sitting resumed.

 

Panel II: Joyce Potter, Margo Dewar, Bruce Borrows, John Lynch, Christina Mills and David Martin made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 12:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
