The Legislative Committee on Bill C-17 met in a televised session at 9:14 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Acting Chair, John O’Reilly, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bev Desjarlais, Marlene Jennings, Mario Laframboise, Steve Mahoney, John O'Reilly, Marcel Proulx.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Analyst.
Witnesses: From "Le Barreau du Québec": Carole Brosseau, Committees Secretary, Research and Legislation Service. From the Coalition of Muslim Organizations: Ziyaad Mia, Director, Muslim Lawyers Association; Khalid Baksh, Member, Muslim Lawyers Association.
The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-17, Public Safety Act 2002.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 11:02 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
