Private Members' Business

At 11:00 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(6), the House proceeded to the consideration of Private Members' Business.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Keddy (South Shore) , seconded by Mr. Bachand (Richmond--Arthabaska) , moved, — That in the opinion of this House the Royal Canadian Mint should make the schooner Bluenose the permanent image on the Canadian ten-cent coin as a commemoration of our seafaring and fisheries heritage. (Private Members' Business M-385)

Debate arose thereon.

Pursuant to Standing Order 96(1), the Order was dropped from the Order Paper.

Government Orders

The Order was read for the consideration of the Business of Supply.

Mr. Loubier (Saint-Hyacinthe--Bagot) , seconded by Ms. Picard (Drummond) , moved, — That this House acknowledge the existence of a fiscal imbalance jeopardizing the continued quality of social programs, such as health care and education, in Quebec and in the other provinces.
