Meeting No. 9
Thursday, May 31, 2001
The Special Committee on the Modernization and Improvement of the Procedures of the House of Commons met in camera at 7:44 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Bob Kilger, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Don Boudria, Michel Gauthier, Bob Kilger, Peter MacKay and John Reynolds.
In attendance: From the House of Commons: Diane Diotte, Procedural Clerk. From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Researcher.
In accordance with the Order of Reference from the House dated March 21, 2001, the committee resumed consideration of its study of the modernization and improvement of the procedures of the House of Commons (See Minutes of Proceeding, dated Tuesday, March 27, 2001, Meeting No.2)
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of its draft report.
It was agreed, - That the draft report, as amended, be adopted as the Committee's report and that the Chair present it to the House.
It was agreed, - That the Committee print 850 copies of its report in tumble format.
It was agreed, - That the researcher and the clerk be authorized to make such typographical and editorial corrections as may be necessary without altering the substance of the report.
It was agreed, - That the transcript of all in camera meetings be destroyed after the report is tabled in the House.
At 8:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
