The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stéphane Bergeron, Bev Desjarlais, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, James Rajotte and Brent St. Denis.

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Charlie Penson.

OtherMember present: Brian Fitzpatrick.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the "Fédération des Caisses Desjardins du Québec": Normand Houle, Vice-President, Business Market, "Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec"; Yves Morency, Vice-President, Gouvernment Relations, "Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec"; Luc Savard, Vice-President, Government Relations, "Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (Lévis)". From the Credit Union Central of Canada: Leo Gautreau, Vice-President of Corporate Development, Niagara Credit Union; Rob Martin, Director of Government Affairs, Canadian Central.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Bank Lending.

Normand Houle, Rob Martin and Leo Gautreau each made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
