The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Stéphane Bergeron, Bev Desjarlais, Walt Lastewka, Brent St. Denis, Chuck Strahl and Paddy Torsney.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Geoffrey P. Kieley, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of Industry: Gaston Jorré, Acting Commissioner of Competition, Competition Bureau; André Lafond, Deputy Commissioner of Competition, Civil Matters Branch, Competition Bureau; R.W. McCrone, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Competition, Criminal Matters Branch, Competition Bureau.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Competition Law and Policy.
Gaston Jorré made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:35 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 39(5)(b), the Committee considered the failure by the Government to respond to Question 85 on the Order Paper.
At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
