The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stéphane Bergeron, Claude Drouin, Walt Lastewka, Dan McTeague, Andy Savoy, Brent St. Denis, Joseph Volpe and Susan Whelan.

Other member present: Tony Ianno.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the National Bank of Canada: Steve Tremblay, Corporate Manager, Business Development; Simon Ledoux, Senior Manager, SME Development; Peter Thompson, Vice-President, Commercial Outaouais, Ontario North and East. From the TD Canada Trust: Nick Stitt, Vice-President, Small Business Banking; David Marr, National Manager, Branch Distribution, Agriculture Services; Craig Alexander, Senior Economist.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Bank Lending.

Steve Tremblay made an opening statement and, with Simon Ledoux and Peter Thompson, answered questions.

At 4:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Nick Stitt made an opening statement and, with David Marr and Craig Alexander, answered questions.

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
