Bill S-7, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act, was referred to the Committee on February 5, 2002.  Since that date, the Committee has heard from the sponsor of the Bill and other witnesses.

Le projet de loi S-7, Loi modifiant la Loi sur la radiodiffusion, a été renvoyé au Comité le 5 février 2002.  Depuis, le Comité a entendu le parrain du projet de loi et divers témoins.

Because of the workload generated by its Study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System, the Committee has not yet been able to complete its study of Bill S-7.

En raison de la charge de travail générée par l’étude de l’état du système de radiodiffusion canadien au Comité, il n’a pas encore été en mesure de terminer l’étude de ce projet de loi.

Therefore, in accordance with Standing Order 97.1, the Committee requests an extension of thirty sitting days to allow it to complete its consideration of Bill S-7.

Par conséquent, conformément à l’article 97.1 du Règlement, le Comité demande une prolongation de trente jours de séance afin d’achever l’étude du projet de loi S-7.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceeding (Meeting nos 48, 51 and 67) is tabled.
