The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Charles L. Caccia, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Charles L. Caccia, Joe Comartin, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Karen Kraft Sloan, Gary Lunn, Karen Redman, Hélène Scherrer, Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas and Tim Williams, analysts.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General: Hugh McRoberts, Assistant Auditor General; Peter Kasurak, Principal; Raymond Kunce, Audit Project Leader. From the Department of National Defence: Brent DiBartolo, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Environment; Ginger Stones, Director General, Environment; Holmer Berthiaume, Director, Environmental Protection.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the 2001 Report of the Auditor General of Canada - Chapter 12: National Defence - Hazardous Materials.
Hugh McRoberts made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:15 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
