Wednesday, October 18, 2000

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 5:20 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Gar Knutson, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Eleni Bakopanos, Garry Breitkreuz and Gar Knutson.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the Senate: The Hon. Jerahmiel S. Grafstein. From the House of Commons: Marlene Jennings.

The witnesses made statements concerning Bill S-5, An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (Parliamentary Poet Laureate).

The Sub-Committee considered business arising from Standing Order 92(1)

At 5:30 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
