The Standing Committee of Public Accounts met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Acting Chair, Mac Harb, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mac Harb, Marlene Jennings, Philip Mayfield, Gilles-A. Perron, Alex Shepherd.
Acting Members present: Peter MacKay for Elsie Wayne and Myron Thompson for John Williams.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis; Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General; Ron Wolchuk, Principal, Audit Operations Branch. From the Correctional Service of Canada: Ole Ingstrup, Commissioner.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)e), consideration of Chapter 1 (Correctional Service Canada - Reintegration of Offenders) of the April 1999 Report of the Auditor General of Canada
By unaminous consent, Mac Harb was elected Acting Chair.
Maria Barrados and Ole Ingstrup made opening statements and answered questions.
At 5:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
