MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 2

Thursday, October 28, 1999

The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 10:05 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Michel Bellehumeur, Carolyn Bennett, Chuck Cadman, Aileen Carroll, Paul DeVillers, Ivan Grose, Peter MacKay, John Maloney, Peter Mancini, John McKay, Jacques Saada and the Hon. Andy Scott.

Acting Member present: Jim Gouk for John Reynolds.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Marilyn Pilon, Researcher and Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.

It was agreed, -- That the Committee invite John Reid, Information Commissioner of Canada to appear before the Committee during the week of November 1st, 1999.

At 11:14 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
