The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:18 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Cannis, Antoine Dubé, Jim Jones, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Jerry Pickard, Werner Schmidt and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission: David Colville, Vice-Chair, Telecommunications; Shirley Soehn, Executive Director, Telecommunications; Paul Godin, Director, Independent Carrier Relations. From the Information Technology Association of Canada: Gaylen Duncan, President & Chief Executive Officer. From Bell Canada: Bill Garbarino, Vice-President, Electronic Services.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 4:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.
