The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Cannis, Antoine Dubé, Jim Jones, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard, Werner Schmidt and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Researcher Officer.
Witnesses: From the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada: Peter Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer. From the Canadian Auto Workers Union: Bill Murnigham, National Representative. From the Coalition for Biomedical and Health Research: Dr. Barry D. McLennan, Chair; Charles Pitts, Executive Director. From BIOTECanada: Paul Hough, Vice-President. From Theratechnologies: Dr. André de Villers, President and Chief Executive Officer. As Individual: John P. Oliver, President, Maple Leaf Bio-Concepts.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness.
