Tuesday, November 2, 1999
The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:09 a.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gerry Byrne, John Cannis, Brenda Chamberlain, Antoine Dubé, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard, Werner Schmidt and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard and Daniel Shaw, Research officers.
Witnesses: From the Statistics Canada: Dr. John Baldwin, Director, Micro Economic Studies and Analysis. From the Department of Industry: Dr. Serge Nadeau, Director General, Micro-Economic Analysis Directorate.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness.
Dr. John Baldwin made a presentation.
At 9:33 a.m., Dr. Serge Nadeau made a presentation and with the other witness, answered questions.
At 11:14 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
