The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Joe Fontana, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Jean Augustine, Leon Benoit, Bernard Bigras, John Bryden, Joe Fontana, Sophia Leung, Rick Limoges, Steve Mahoney, John McKay, David Price and Andrew Telegdi.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Thursday, March 23, 2000, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-16, An Act respecting Canadian citizenship (See Minutes of Proceedings, Wednesday, March 29, 2000 , Meeting No. 19).

(i) the Charter of the French Language (R.S.Q.,c. C-11);

(iii) the Election Act (R.S.Q., c. E-3.3); and
(iv) the Declaration by the Government of Quebec on Ethnic and Race Relations, signed on December 10, 1986."
The Chair ruled the proposed amendment out of order in the grounds that it was beyond the scope of the Bill.
